A good place to start is with greetings.
Jane: Bom dia!

The ‘a’ at the end of a word is more like the ‘er’ en butter. Quite soft. Not like ‘ah, but
more like ‘eh’. (Vowel sounds will change depending where they are). The ‘g’ in
brackets represent the last sound we take away from the word, we take away the ‘g’
sound here to make it more ‘nasal’. (see video in 'lesson 1a') So instead of saying
bong with the ‘g’ say it without the ‘g’. The ‘j’ I use for the phonetic, sounds like ‘s’ in
the word pleasure, it is used a lot.
It is somewhere between a ‘j’ and a ‘z’. Phonetic bold is where the word is stressed.

So practice saying the above until you learn it by heart and do not move on until you
have got it. It isn’t a lot to learn and should not take you too long. You can even great
people if you feel brave enough, but learn it.
